About

Built by one person who kept scrolling instead of calling his mum!

CallFirst is a consumer mobile app that gates access to social media behind a verified phone call.

The user picks which social apps to lock and a contact to call; the app unlocks for the day once they've spent sixty seconds or more on a call with that contact. Android launches in Brazil in September 2026; iOS follows. Built and operated by AI PM Services LTD, a UK-registered technology company.

A note from the founder

My name is Ben Freeman. I'm based in London and I'm a product manager (LinkedIn).

I built CallFirst because I noticed I was scrolling instead of calling my mum when I was meant to! I'd think, I should call her, and then thirty seconds later I'd be reading about the latest AI development or watching a video about Padel technique.

The problem with most app-blockers is that they treat the symptom: the time spent in the app. They make the friction generic — a breathing exercise, a timer, a fee. They don't bring you back to anyone. CallFirst does. It blocks the apps you actually lose hours to, and unlocks them only after a real, sixty-second phone call. It's a small mechanism with a slightly mortifying effect: you end up speaking to your family or friends.

I'm launching CallFirst in Brazil first, in September 2026. Brazilians spend more time on social apps than almost anywhere on earth, and they care about family in a way that's culturally legible.

I'm the whole team. The company behind the app is AI PM Services LTD, a UK-registered limited company. The address below is real; the email goes to my inbox. If you want to ask me anything, just write.

CallFirst exists to put one specific friction in front of the apps that take the most from us — and to make that friction the start of an actual conversation. Not a streak. Not a community. A phone call.
